This collection was made as part of my design studies, combining design elements from two different traditional craft and textile of India. The colorful stripes are derived from "Bhavani Jamakkalam" a traditional blanket and carpet material which is awarded a GI tag, weaved in Bhavani, Tamilnadu. The motifs were designed and made with reference from "Sanjhi" a unique paper cutting art flourished in 15th century in the northern parts of India. This was mostly popular among the Krishna devotees and People around Vrindhavan, the birth place of lord Krishna. Each of the garment in this collection depicts different scenes from "Krishnaleela" and are carved out on fabric with the help of laser cutting technique.
